Dear St. Jude Families,

I hope everyone has had a good start to the school year; it seems almost impossible that we are approaching the mid-point of the first quarter. As we approach midterm, I would encourage everyone to check RenWeb regularly. If you have questions or concerns about your children’s grades, please contact the teachers.

We had a great pot luck dinner, HASA Meeting and Open House on the 20th—thank you to all who were able to attend! Cross Country, Catholic Football and Tennis are all in full swing. Check out the athletic schedule in the weekly Menu or at www.mysjs.com and come out to support our Saints.

We are so excited to have Señora Jenkins with us! Every grade has added Spanish to their weekly schedule. Adding Spanish to our program has been a goal for a long time. It’s been fun to watch the kids as they explore this new program. They love it.

September is looking to be a busy month. We will be out of school on Monday, September 2nd for the Labor Day holiday. Students will be out of school on Friday, September 20th while the teachers attend the Diocesan In-Service in Knoxville. Our 8th grade will travel to Camp Lookout from September 25th-27th, and our 22nd Annual Chepul Memorial Golf Classic will be Friday, September 27th at Creeks Bend.

The keynote speaker at the Diocesan In-Service will be Thomas Kersting, author of Disconnected: How to reconnect our Digitally Disconnected Kids. He will present a parent session on Thursday, September 19th at 6:30 at Knoxville Catholic High School. The presentation will be posted online for those who are unable to travel to Knoxville.

The first quarter will end on Friday, October 4th. Parent/teacher conferences will be Wednesday, October 2nd from 2:30-6:00. Your children’s teachers will get you information to sign up for parent conferences. Because of
the conferences on October 2nd, we will dismiss at 11:30 on Friday, October 4th. Aftercare will not be provided. Fall Break will be the week of October 7th. Classes will resume Monday, October 14th.

As always, thank you for sharing your children with us. We are grateful to be in a school where we can not only pursue academic excellence but do it in an environment where Christ is the center of all that we do.

God Bless,

Mrs. Goodhard, Principal
