Dear St. Jude Parents and Guardians,

While March finds us with crazy weather, we have at least dodged last year's rampant illnesses. We've had some instances of flu, stomach viruses and strep, but we've managed to avoid last year's epidemic! We are rocking right along.

The Diocesan School's Office and each of the ten schools hosted the External Review Team from AdvancEd Feburary 21-23. As a result of that visit, the schools in the Diocese of Knoxville are all individually accredited and the system was also granted accreditation. Many people worked many hours on the accreditation process. Thank you to all who were involved and supported St. Jude's accreditation efforts. As a result of this achievement, Bishop Stika has granted us a one-time Cardinal's Day. The Chattanooga Catholic schools will take that day on Tuesday, April 18th. This follows our Bishop's Day on Monday, April 17th. This gives us the Monday and Tuesday after Easter off. Thank you, Bishop Stika!

Once we return from Spring Break, we begin our spring activities. Kindergarten, 3rd, 5th and 7th grades will take the COGAT tests the week we return. We will have Stations presented by the 5th grade on March 28th; the 6thgrade will do Stations on Thursday, April 6th. Our 8th Grade living Stations will be on Wednesday, April 12th. We will dismiss at 11:30 on Holy Thursday.

Our Home and School Association (HASA) has been working hard. Thanks to all who Scrip, HASA was again able to award mini-grants totaling approximately $15,000. Come join us as St. Jude Rocks on Saturday, April 22ndto celebrate a great year of Scripping! Watch the Menu for details to come.

Please keep our 8th Graders and their teachers in your prayers as they will travel to Washington, DC on April 20th. This is an awesome trip for them, and we appreciate the parents and teachers who make it happen. We will have a regional in-service on April 28th which will be a non-school day for the students. That will be followed by First Communion on Saturday, April 29th. We wish many blessings to our Second Graders as they prepare for that sacrament.

Thanks to everyone for all that you do to support our school.

God Bless,

Mrs. Goodhard
