As I reflect on  my years as a St. Jude parent, I am reminded of my own childhood in Buffalo, New York. Within a 4 by 20 block area, we had 7 Catholic Churches and each had it's own school. (I was probably 7 or 8 years old before I realized that not everyone was Catholic!) The education I received at St. Ambrose set the tone for my future. We were taught by the Sisters of Mercy, as well as lay teachers, and religion was always a part of our everyday activities. St. Jude has given my children that same start, and I couldn't be happier to have found such an amazing place. Since we enrolled our oldest in Kindergarten back in 2001, we knew that their futures were promising and although my youngest will graduate in 2 years, I will still be a St. Jude parent for a very long time!

Several years ago, I wanted to do something more to give back to the school that has given so much to my family. I decided to run for a position on the School Committee and was elected in a landslide. (Actually, there were 2 openings, and only 2 of us volunteered, so there really wasn't an election!) This year, I am honored to have been elected Chairman and after having served under the great leadership of Shannon Bourn and Paul Cahill, I hope to follow their example and help this dedicated group of people make St. Jude achieve even greater heights.
