Good morning, St. Jude,and happy Valentine’s Day.  It’s February 14, 2019.

Did you know that St. Valentine was once a priest?  Emperor Claudius, way back when the Roman Empire was super strong, wouldn’t let anyone in  his army get married. What?! He thought single men made tougher soldiers. Such an unromantic dude.  Valentine married them anyway because he TOTALLY believed in love.  When Emperor Claudius found out, he had him thrown in prison, and Valentine was executed on February 14.

Today, we take a moment to remember that God invited us here to show love.  Remember to let everyone know how much they mean to you, not just today, but every day.    Everywhere we walk today, let’s walk in love, as Christ loved us.

Spoiler Alert:  Here’s the answer to yesterday’s trivia question:  How many St. Jude students have birthdays on February 14.  Happy Valentine birthday to Luz Zuniga and to Saylor Schalk in third grade.   Hope your Valentine birthday is the best day EVER.

What’s for lunch in the cafe today?  Chicken nuggets, mashed potatoes, lima beans and a cool Valentine dessert.  Lotta love in that lunch today, guys.

And how about our February weather for today?  Looks like the sun will be hiding behind the clouds most of the day.  The high will be just 63.

Today’s quote is by a band you may have heard of, the Beatles:  It goes like this: All you need is love.

The answer to yesterday’s trivia question was correctly written by Sophia Calhoun - Come on down to the office and claim your super sweet prize.

Aiden in Mrs. Schoolfield's Class is leading our Pledge - I Pledge Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for Which it Stands, One Nation Under God, Indivisible, with Liberty and Justice For All.

And Together We Pray, "Holy Spirit, Help Me Today In Everything I Think And Do And Say. St. Jude Pray For Us."
