S - SPORTSMANSHIP
*The Mr. & Ms. PE program is for all students in grades 1-8. This program is completely
guided by student behavior and effort/participation in PE class. Students will never be
evaluated based on skill level. The purpose of this program is to promote positive behavior
and daily effort during PE class.
*Each student will begin the year with a grade of 100. If a student does not meet the PE
grading scale above, they will lose -1 pt for that day. On average, each student will attend PE
around 100 times during the school year. At the end of the school year, all students that
have a final grade of 93 or above will be named Mr./Ms. PE. This means that every student
is allowed to lose 7 points throughout the entire school year. Students may be able to earn
points back depending on the reason they lost points. This will be discussed with the
students if needed.
*Students in grades 1-5 that are named Mr./Ms. PE will be recognized during school with an
end of the year PE party in the gym. Students in grades 6-8 that are named Mr./Ms. PE will
be recognized with an end of the year PE field trip. The date and location of the field trip will
be announced during the year.
